*The Sunday meet on 6/12 starts at 2pm and the other meets start at 6:30pm. Champs is during the day, first event at 9am on both days. |

Hello Three Chopt Members,
Are you ready for some swimming and diving?!?! In the midst of
spring sports, it's time to think about summer it will be here
before you know it! We have some changes to our swimming coaching
staff. Coach Chuck Kratzert will be back for his 31st year as Head
Coach. He will be assisted by Michael Cousins and our new additions
to our coaching staff this year are Ruby Kratzert, Kerri Moriarty
and Nicole Nagasawa. Coach Amanda will be seen around the pool
helping out with the behind the scenes events this summer. Coach
Amanda and her family, are expecting their 2nd child in July. We are
pleased to announce that Head Dive Coach, Miggen Carlson, will be
back! Carle Silvestri returns as our Assistant Dive Coach as well!
Please help extend a warm Tsunami welcome to our new coaches and we
are so happy to have Coach Miggen, Coach Carle, Coach Chuck and
Coach Michael return!
If you did not make our swim team registration on Sunday, April
10th, please feel free to download a registration form from our
website and bring it with your payment on the first day of practice
or you can mail it to the club. Anyone registering on or before May
25th will get a free team t-shirt! The registration fee is $50 for
each of the first two swimmers and $25 for each additional swimmer.
Swimmers can register anytime; however, a late fee of $10 will go
into effect after May 25th for all returning swimmers. So please
register by the 25th to get your team t-shirt and avoid that late
charge!
Each family will be required to work three ½ swim meets this season.
It is easy and we can find a job to suit everyone.
Once dive practice begins we will have a sign up sheet for the dive
meets – parents help at the head table – we need 4 to 6 volunteers
for home meets and 1 to 2 for away meets. Please sign up to help
once practice starts. We cannot run a dive meet without parent
volunteers!
It is time for a wonderful TC parent to take over the position of
JRAC Dive Representative at Three Chopt. Beth Parrish has served for
over 8 years. Beth will be around to help in the transition. The
duties are easy and with all the fantastic parents and other
aquatics volunteers it is quite painless. Please consider the
position and speak to Beth when practice starts.
Our first day of swim practice will be Monday, May 16th
beginning @ 5:15 p.m. for the 10 and under ages and 6:15 for the 11
and up in the Upper Pool. Practices are 1 hour long.
Our first day of dive practice will be Monday, May 16th
beginning @ 4pm.

We'll have a parent meeting at the annual Pizza Dinner on
Wednesday, June 8th. The meeting for swim and dive parents
will be held while the kids are swimming and diving. The kids will
eat pizza after their practice time. A more detailed practice
schedule will be given to families after they are registered.
New this season
We will have swim stroke clinics offered on a first come, first
served basis. The stroke clinics will focus on a specific stroke.
Cost will be $10 per hour and class is limited to five swimmers per
coach. Once you register, you will receive more information on this
new feature.
Save the date Friday, June 24th is our Alumni/Parent Swim
Meet. More details to come soon!
So again, parents please register your mini-mite/swimmer/diver by
the 25th of May, even if you are not practicing yet, so you can get
your free t-shirt. I will be at swim practice every day to help get
you signed up by the 25th. Please check the web for more information

The committee has been working hard over the winter to ensure a
smooth and fun-filled 2011 season! We have many fun things planned
and we can't wait for it all to start!
