A
Pittsburgh native, Rob played college tennis and earned a
Business Administration Degree from Robert Morris University. He
then went back to college to earn his teaching degree in
Secondary Education at California University of PA. While he was
there he was named the Head Women’s Tennis Coach, and within a
year he coached the team to finish at a school best 15th
in the East region.
Rob began teaching within the Pittsburgh area at Glen Creek
Tennis Club which was recognized twice in 10 years as
Organization of the Year in the USTA Middle States Section. Rob
coached the #1 Girls 14 and 16 and under player and 3 of the top
ten Boys 14’s and two 12 and under nationally ranked players.
It
was then time to take his career to the next level as he arrived
in Richmond to direct Brandermill Country Club’s Junior and
Adult program, where he built the program to over 110 players
and formed many leagues. In 2004, he moved to the west end and
became Avalon’s Tennis Director and within 3 years he had over
470 returning kids and 280 adults filtering through the club and
its many activities. In 2007, Rob was named Head Pro at
Midlothian Tennis Club (formerly BCC) where he again built a
junior program from the ground up and added more adult socials
and clinics.
He now arrives at THREE CHOPT RECREATION
CENTER to create an even more exciting program for the
entire membership!!!

Message from Rob:
Hello
everyone. I am very excited to begin my tenure at Three Chopt
Recreation. I would encourage you to visit our website (www.tcrclub.com)
to see what TCRC has to offer. Our programs range from the
fabulous USTA QuickStart Program to all different types of
competition. I cannot begin to name them all; however, I would
like to highlight what I am sure will be the event of the summer
and that is the THREE CHOPT SUMMER OLYMPICS for both Adults and
Kids of all ages and abilities! We will run that August 28-29
and we will have events not all about tennis and swimming, but
some other unique events to be named later. More details on that
to come!
