Pittsburgh native, Rob earned a Business Administration Degree from Robert Morris University and a Secondary Education Certification from California University of PA. After graduating from CAL U, he was named the Head Women’s Tennis Coach and within a year he coached the team to finish at a school best 13th in the East region.
Rob has taught now for 18 years, beginning within the Pittsburgh area at Glen Creek Tennis Club which was recognized twice in 10 years as an Organization of the Year in the USTA Middle States Section. Rob coached the top ranked Girls’ 14 and 16 & under players, three of the top ten Boys 14’s and two 12 & under nationally ranked players.
He was then recruited to come to Richmond, teaching at Brandermill Country Club as the Head Tennis Pro and Director of Junior Tennis, Avalon Recreation as their Director of Tennis, and Midlothian Tennis Club (formerly BCC) as their Head Tennis Professional.
While at these clubs, Rob has very successfully attracted over 600 plus kids and 300 plus adults to his programs. He is well known for forming unique tennis events, like the Junior Davis Cup Series, Recreation Club Challenge, Three Chopt Tennis Extravangza, and Three Chopt Olympics.
Now at Three Chopt Recreation Club, he has grown the program by 70% while creating the Tennis Olympics, Turkey Bowl, and always has a new, novelty event to bring to the membership each year!
Rob was awarded the USTA/Mid-Atlantic Tournament Director of the Year for 2013.
