FAQ: 2020 Capital Investment
Is the Capital Investment Fee optional?
No, this will be a required fee for membership renewal in 2020.
Will the Capital Investment Fee be a part of my membership fees charged annually going forward?
No, Capital Investment Fees are not included in annual membership. Please keep in mind that the last time we asked our members to support a Capital Improvement Investment was in 2004, over 15 years ago.
Does this mean that my annual membership fee will also increase?
No, all annual membership fees, initiation fees, and guest passes will remain the same for 2020 as compared to 2019.
Why doesn’t my annual membership fee cover expenses like these?
Unfortunately, revenue through membership does not currently cover the expenses associated with the extensive repairs and updates required. However, while the updates are costly, they will have extensive longevity once completed. You will see many other more subtle updates this year, but the Capital Investment Fee is associated with the large scale updates and repairs the club will be making.
Where is my money going?
The most exciting and impactful updates will be that the women’s restroom will be completely refurbished and tennis courts 1-4 will also be refinished. We will also be replacing and adding tables, chairs, and umbrellas to support heavy attendance on busy holidays. The diving board fulcrums will be replaced to function more appropriately and safely. Finally, we will purchase new lane spools for the aquatics team.
How did you decide where to invest?
We reviewed survey feedback collected over the last several years to identify our members’ top priorities for updates.
The women’s restroom is being updated, what about the men’s restroom?
While the women’s restroom was the most vocalized concern from members, we are planning to refresh the men’s bathroom in the near future.
